Literacy

Learning to read and write takes hard work! Talk Read Grow assesses your child to identify areas of difficulty. We provide evidence-based intervention to support learning to read and spell across the preschool and school aged years. Speech pathology support or literacy tutoring is available. Ask us if you're not sure which is right for you!

Speech

Speech refers to the sounds we make when talking. Talk Read Grow provides assessment and therapy for children who have difficulty with their speech. These children may swap or leave out sounds when talking, which can make them harder to understand. They may also have difficulty with making individual sounds (articulation) or the motor aspects of speech (Childhood Apraxia of Speech).

Language

Language is so important and refers to the words and sentences we use to communicate. This includes understanding what others say to us. Talk Read Grow provides assessment and therapy for children who are having difficulty learning to talk, difficulty understanding others or who have Developmental Language Disorder. We also support children who use Alternative and Augmentative Communication tools.

About our waiting list

We have a wait list for some of our services. There is currently high demand for paediatric speech pathology appointments. Please be advised of the following:
  • Our wait list management is based on multiple factors including: our therapists' appointment availability, our therapists experience/skills/special interest areas, your child's areas of need and your day/time availability
  • This means your child will be offered an appointment only when both a suitable therapist and appointment time becomes available
  • Our wait list is not managed based only on when you joined it. It may occur that someone who joins after you is offered a space first, because of the above factors
  • We are unable to provide an exact time frame for when you will be offered a space
  • We may be able to provide a rough estimate, but wait times may be more or less than advised
  • Please keep these factors in mind, when asking to join our waiting list!
